The People and the Lodge
Indigenous Public Art Calgary
Featuring work by Amber Weaselhead, Alaynee Goodwill-Littlechild, Kristy North Peigan, Joey Big Snake, Ashley Crow Chief, Alicia King and Crystal Clark The People and the Lodge reclaims iconography of dance and the lodge, layering contemporary perspectives with deep cultural meaning.
The exhibition brings together artists from across Treaty 7 whose works are rooted in traditional, cultural identity and connection to the land. They re-assert cultural symbols of dance and the lodge, often misused in mass‑produced art, and restore them through authentic cultural specificity and fresh perspectives.
This exhibition is on view in our Beltline Gallery which is by appointment only.
