Forward Together
is an exhibition that showcases Indigenous artists and their expression of sovereignty and self-determination. How do we as Indigenous peoples decide and imagine and create our future?

We can build the future we want in our own way. We have always been, and always will be sovereign nations. We call upon the knowledge of our ancestors and all of our relations. We call upon their wisdom, and their teachings to decide what is good for our children and our land and our languages, our culture, ourselves and our bodies. We have been our own government since time immemorial.  In our 500+ years of resistance to colonial canada we have come to a deeper understanding of what's is at stake for our children's future, and our future as Indigenous people. Join us at The Bows for a glimpse into an Indigenous futures.

Guided by Elder Council, the Lodgepole Center is a gathering place where you can access Indigenous cultural resources, ceremony, programs and supports, and where you can reflect, recharge, and renew.  It is a dedicated and inclusive space, where all members of AUArts are welcome and it has become a popular meeting spot, showcasing the University’s commitment to Indigenous culture, teachings, art, craft, and design.
